Come together
Do you have the Beatles song stuck in your head now because of the title? Ha! Just so you know…I totally rock that song at Rock Band. Hand me a set of drumsticks and a colored moving screen and I’ll rock your world!
But that’s not really what I was going to right about.
I just wanted to take a moment to express my amazement at how great the ladies in my ward are. There’s a new sister in our area who just moved here with nothing but the shirt on her back. She was very brave to do so, and she has procured a job and a place to live, but still needs regular household “stuff” to get along. The Relief Society (largest women’s organization in the world…google it!) came together and within two days this woman will be set up with all she will need – food, bed, furniture, kitchenware, bathroom toiletries, even a T.V. and an exercise bike.
I have been amazed at how many women who were busy or not well were still willing and came forward to tell me they had things to donate to the cause. It just warms my heart to see people come together to aid in another person’s time of need. It gives me hope in humanity when I feel so often nobody really cares about each other anymore. Thanks, sisters!
