It’s the most wonderful time of the year
Well it snowed and snowed last night, leaving us with a winter wonderland to play in this morning! Our kids are old enough to really play hard in the snow without a ton of adult supervision so after mom and dad got tired of sledding, building snowmen, and making snow angels, the kids tromped off to the neighbor’s back yard for more fun while my husband and I warmed back up indoors.
We tuned in to some nice jazzy Christmas tunes, cleaned up the house complete with evergreen scented spray, and when the kids came back home to warm up we served them hot cocoa with marshmallows and toast.
I whipped up some cinnamon rolls…well okay, they don’t really “whip up” when you make them from scratch so three hours later they were ready. Just in time for dessert. We invited family over for dinner and it felt like Christmas day was already here without the candy cane sugar coma or the hassle of chasing bits of wrapping paper all over the house. Perfect!
