What the Blog are you Blogging About?

This is where I write about my exotic, stress-free lifestyle, my perfectly behaved children, and my no-fail mothering techniques. Yeah, I like to write fiction.

From the mouths of babes

I have a four-year-old who says some funny things throughout the day.  Here are a few of his nuggets of joy:

“Turn off your music, it makes me sad.  I need to do a video game for quiet time, not your music for quiet time.” – Sometimes I listen to new-age music from my satellite while I relax and read a book.  Apparently this is not his favorite way to spend “quiet time” and would much prefer a nice relaxing…video game.

“I’m going to send you to YOUR room so you can go to sleep and I am going to do a quiet time video game.”  These two have been followed by a “no” “yes” ping-pong match between us.

“You put on your Princess Leia Halloween costume and I will be Yoda.”  I relanted and he then followed me around the house showing me his toys and played a little “Uno Attack” match – always referring to me as “Princess Leia” and never “mommy.”  This also works with any hand-puppet I hold.  As soon as it’s on my hand, it has magically come to life and he wants to show it all of his favorite things because it’s his newest bestest friend!

“Dad, that song wasn’t necessary.” – After daddy had been humming a tune to himself while making lunch.

“Somebody lock me in the pantry!” – One of his favorite games where he then pops out and surprises any passers by.  (In case you’re wondering, we don’t have a lock on the pantry and would of course never lock our children anywhere because that would be abusive and wrong.)   Other similar favorites of his are “Push me down” (on the couch)  or “Tickle/Kiss Attack”.

What are some funny things you hear your kids say during the day that…out of context…sound funny or horribly wrong?
